Belt deviations from a straight path are part of the nature of belt conveyors.
Various solutions are available as corrective measures:
spherically turned drums
(outer) idler rollers arranged in a tilted position in the upper runlower-run idler rollers with support rings (cleaning effect)
and
the use of a tracking roller
The tracking roller works almost wear-free (apart from the slight rubber abrasion) and automatically compensates for misalignment by shifting the weight of the mistracking belt, which triggers a pendulum movement. The roller constantly pivots at its centre. It is lubricated for life and is maintenance-free.
